# Combo Enrollment

> Managing 2-year programs where the total fee spans both years

## What is Combo Enrollment?

Combo enrollment is for students joining a **2-year program** (e.g. 11th + 12th combined). The total fee is split across two years and tracked separately — students are never charged twice.

## Enrolling a Combo Student

When adding a student, enable **Combo Enrollment** and select:

* **Year 1** — student is in their first year of the program
* **Year 2** — student is in their second year (promoted from Year 1 at rollover)

Set the fee amount for each year separately.

## How Fees Work for Combo Students

* Year 1 and Year 2 fee balances are tracked independently
* Payments are applied to the correct year automatically
* The fee balance shown is always the current year's balance
* The parent portal shows the **full 2-year total** alongside total paid and balance

On the students list, combo students are marked with a badge showing their current year (**Y1** / **Y2**).

  Never manually change a combo student's year. Use the **Year-End Rollover** to promote them from Year 1 to Year 2. See [Academic Year](/settings/academic-year).

## Year-End Promotion

At rollover time, Year 1 combo students are automatically promoted to Year 2. Their Year 1 payment history is preserved and Year 2 fee tracking begins fresh.

  Combo students are never charged twice for the same program. Do not set a new total fee for Year 2 students unless the Year 2 fee has genuinely changed.
